Placebo

In one lineAn inactive comparator.

Definition

An inactive substance given to the control group of a trial so that neither expectation nor the act of being treated can explain a difference between groups. Placebo responses are large for pain, mood and energy — exactly the outcomes most peptide claims are about — which is why uncontrolled reports of feeling better prove very little.
